Just wondering if anyone have heard these headphones and know a bit about the sound signatures between these headphones. Thanks
How would the sound compare between V-Jay or C-Jay to Sen HD238

Hi dragoonv,
I've heard the HD218, HD228, and HD238 and I was never that impressed with them. I'd actually still choose the PX100-II over the HD2x8 models.Posted 1 month ago # -
Hey Mike,
I own a pair of 238. I compared it to the PX models and other HD2x8 models, I found the "soundstage" tends to be better, only thing lacking is the mid range response. Vocal tends to be very laid back. Just wonder other portables compare to 238 would sound like..
Also, would Beyer TP50 be suffering from the problem that all closed cans are having?
What is the best portable cans you would suggest, excluding IEM (bad for your hearing!!!)

Hi dragoonv,
Yes, that sounds correct. The HD2x8 models should have bigger soundstage than the PX models, but it's the tonal balance that I find objectionable on the HD2x8 models (midrange being one of the problem).Hmm... yes, the T50p still suffer from the closed cans reverb. The HD25-1 Sennheiser is unique in this regards, it's one of the best damped closed headphone I've ever heard.
The reverb problem I'm sure can be fixed through damping. Most of the vintage orthodynamic headphones I've heard that belongs to local members are quite free from the reverb problem (they're expert in damping mods).
Gosh, there are a lot of great portable headphones. The ATH M50, HD25-1, Shure SRH-840, ATH ESW-9, Beyer T50p, B&W P5, etc etc... Please wait a little bit, as I'm going to publish a comparison of those cans, then you can have a better idea.

I wouldn't consider SRH 840 and ATH M50 "portable" tho...
too big to carry around

Yep, you're right. I don't know why, but I keep on referring them as "portables".
