Canjam Europe/Germany: September 21&22

image

I’m sure most of you have heard about the unique Canjam Event hosted by Head-fi at RMAF in the United States. CanJam is something Head-fi founder Jude developped over the years, and while this is a great and unique show (it’s the place to be for headphone enthusiasts) it was always held in the United States.

As most Europeans won’t hop on an airplane to go to that show, some headphone lovers in Germany had the idea to start their own CanJam, something similar and closer to home. This CanJam event in Essen (Germany, close to the Belgian and Dutch border) is not related to the original Head-Fi event or Jude himself but it sure is looking to become very nice, just like the original. It would have been better to have had a different name however as Head-Fi is in no way implicated with this event, I hope that’s clear.

From the website:

Listening to music with headphones has evolved significantly in recent years. Many new and exceptionally good products raised the experience “personal audio” to a whole new level. That’s why we host the first European CanJam. It’s a meeting for headphones friends – from beginners to high-end music lovers, from ambitious tinkerers to professional studio users. We invite you to compare headphones and amplifiers of the main manufacturers. Test equipment and get tips from experts. See lovingly combined and optimized private sets by members of the forums as well as sophisticated equipment for mobile use that are presented by manufacturers.

Brands like Audeze, Brainwavz,Violectric, Hifiman, Fiio, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and many more have already confirmed they will be there and each day new distributors and brands are confirming their presence.

A lot of people don’t have the possibility to listen to gear because there are no shops nearby selling it or because it is just too expensive, this event gives everybody the possibility to do so. Headfonia.com is a media partner for CanJam.de but we’re not involved in the project besides that. The organization will be checking this post however and will help you with any questions you may have. Feel free to post your questions and remarks in the comment section.

Any knowledge of a chance to hear one of the Astell & Kern players or any other high end players? I can see it’s not on the list :<
