Leckerton Audio, a US company, will release a new headphone amplifier with a DAC feature. The Leckerton UHA-4 is an upgrade of the UHA-3. Unlike the other Leckerton models that use Cirrus Logic chips for the DAC, this time Leckerton will use the Texas Instruments PCM2706. Their website said that this Headamp & DAC will be available early 2010 which means it is coming soon. The dimension is 2.1″ x 3.2″ x 0.9″ (same as UHA-3).

Features:

  • Rechargeable battery, charged through USB
  • Charge disable switch for maximizing portable computer battery life
  • Automatic input selection
  • 16-bit/48kHz USB digital audio
  • 1/8″ analog input
  • Socketed op amps (8-pin DIP, single)
  • DAC: Texas Instruments PCM2706
  • Output driver opamps: AD8610
  • Uses standard USB audio drivers, no software needed
  • Compatible with Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows
