How about a factory recabled, balanced, Ultrasone PRO900 headphones? Ultrasone has decided to offer balanced-drive version of the PRO900 headphones. The PRO900 headphones are made in Thailand, then shipped to Germany, where they undergo a recable procedure from the factory to a 2x 3-pin Neutrk XLR termination.
This is a groundbreaking move from Ultrasone, as I am not aware of any modern headphones sold with balanced cabling from the factory (There were a vintage cans that comes with balanced termination, but I can’t remember what it is). It seems that Ultrasone has been reading Ttyl’s writings on Headroom. I haven’t seen this announcement outside from Japan, so we’ll see if Ultrasone will offer this outside of Japan. The PRO900-Balanced will sell for 89,000 yen, tax excluded.
