Bluetooth 5.0 is pretty standard these days, and of course 1MORE’s latests use of 5.0 chips. The connection quality is perfect, I have never experienced a drop-out during my time with the DDAP. No issues about latency either. I tested with Netflix, Youtube and several games and had no latency issues. Everything was in sync. If you’ve been following my wireless reviews, you know how rare LDAC actually is compared to Bluetooth 5.0. It is essential for us Audiophiles because Bluetooth audio codecs are not really on FLAC quality level yet. LDAC being the most advanced one, supports 990 kbps of audio data stream. And a joyous yes, 1MORE’s neckband goodness supports it. You can stream your favourite Tidal Hi-Fi tracks and enjoy the quality. Many of the wireless gear on the market misses this important codec. So thanks to 1MORE for including it and we look forward to seeing it more.

Talking about rare things reminded me of how rare the 3.5mm to USB-C cables are. 1MORE included a 3.5mm to USB-C cable in case you want to use your earphones with a source that does not have Bluetooth. Moving on to the battery life. Now, this is a mixed bag of treats. If you go full-audiophile, I mean 990-kbps LDAC plus throw in the ANC mode, you’ll get around 8 hours of juice. That is not bad. If you’re just going to enjoy your Spotify playlist via SBC codec, you’ll get around 15 hours of juice with ANC on. That is mighty impressive and yes, LDAC is a power hungry codec indeed.

Don’t forget that the  DDAP supports fast-charging and a 10 minutes charge gives you around 2 to 3 hours extra. Apple users will automatically get better battery life because Apple devices do not support LDAC so they will use AAC by default. AAC only supports up to 320 kbps of audio stream. Additionally, DDAP is IPX5 water-resistant. You can enjoy your music during the rain, just don’t submerge it into the water completely and you are golden. As for the call quality, 1MORE did an excellent job on the microphones. They pick up my voice crystal clear, even when there is a background noise. You can have conference calls and everything without having to repeat yourself.

 1More App

1More has an app both for iPhone as well as Android devices. You can use the app to control noise cancelling modes (off, mild & strong), activate or deactivate wind noise reduction mode, receive OTA firmware updates or check the battery level. I successfully updated the firmware of my device using the app and it was really easy. The app is designed with simplicity in mind and works flawlessly without bugs.

Sound

The Dual Driver ANC Pro has this beautifully balanced sound signature with a hint of sparkle in the highs. The clarity is brilliant and as soon as you put them in your ears the excitement wraps you around. You hear the quick, tight, punchy bass and deep, velvety sub region. The rumble is exciting and it definitely vivifies the overall signature. The tonal balance is great, no region stands out or damages the coherency in any way. Mid-region is a tad lighter, providing very good detail and resolution with lots of energy and excitement.
