Female vocals are excellent with lots of detail. Listening to acoustic tracks with this earphone lets you know about the note weight and it is not particularly thick or thin. I would want to see a bit more weight here but this is fine also. The upper mids and treble region have a slight elevation which gives both resolution and clarity a boost and contributes to the excitement factor of the earphone. The DDAP has defined, crisp and well-done treble. This gives hi-hats and crashes great energy and improves the musicality.

Moving on to the headroom, the DDAP does not offer a overly wide stage, it is rather cube-y but depth is good and space between instruments is very nice for the price. That being said, the imaging is also precise making it easy to track instruments even during congestion-prone fast passages. The level of detail is impressive considering the price and the features the DDAP offers. The sound does not feel artificial and instruments does not have a unrealistic timbre.

As I mentioned before, coherency is great and this contributes to the dynamics, making this earphone quite exciting to listen to. Speed-wise it was a happy surprise for me as it did go through my fastest paced tracks without anything feeling sluggish. Moreover, I did not hear even a hint of sibilance. Listening to Steve Strauss’ ”Mr.Bones” greets you with a well defined, clear treble in the background, crisp midrange with sweet guitar flavor, the bass harmonics are felt throughout the song. Layering is brilliant and the track is very well reproduced by the 1More’s neckband IEM.

Comparisons

Sony WI-1000XM2 Neckband Wireless (msrp. 299 USD)

Sony’s neckband offering sounds duller compared to 1MORE’s and the 1MORE is a step or two better in the clarity section. 1MORE’s treble is clearer, crisper and feels more natural. The Sony has a tad wider stage but the depth is better on the 1MORE. I personally like 1MORE’s tonality better due to the fact that it is more balanced and much livelier.

Bass-wise it is easy to say that 1MORE offers a better texture, packs a bigger punch and has a more natural, non-dull tone compared to Sony. Also, 1MORE’s housing is much smaller and for my ears it is more comfortable than protruding Sony’s.

Sennheiser Momentum Neckband (msrp. 199 USD)

The Momentum is a bit old for this comparison but I am going to do it anyway. It is safe to say that 1MORE offers much more resolution and clarity and has a better sound quality all together. Especially the mid-range sounds awfully dull compared to 1MORE’s. Sennheiser’s bass response also feels bloated compared to 1MORE’s.

Last words

1MORE has come up with feature-packed, killer neckband IEM. The design looks great, feels great, sounds great. ANC works like a charm and perhaps it is one of the best in the industry. Call quality is also very good and I know this is critical for some of you. Additionally while offering many features it still has a good battery life and it has a fast charging capability. It is comfortable to wear, it has a IPX5 water-resistance certification and it features a durable, sturdy build.  Sound-wise it offers a clear, balanced sound signature. And if that’s not competitive enough for you, 1MORE offers all of this for only $149 USD.

In my opinion, 1MORE offers the best neckband wireless solution at the time of this review and if you’re in the market for a neckband type wireless IEM, these are your best bet. A new recommended buy in our Wireless category.
