Mysphere
One of the brands everyone was looking forward to. It was the first time I saw the AKG K1000 successor myself and boy did I like it.
I’ve been so lucky to listen to the original K1000 on several occasions but this new Mysphere 3.1 just blows that away sound-wise.
Sure you look a bit weird, futuristic and geeky wearing that thing. The things we have to do for the job…
It was a bit heavier than I expected it would be, but it was comfortable at the same time. The Mysphere 3.1 also is modular so you can replace all parts of it if needed. Try it!
Mytek
Apologies for the dark picture, but it does make the logo look better.
I already was a fan of the Brooklyn DAC when I listened to it at the Headphone Heaven show a few weeks ago, and for me this is the best DAC of the show.
The full Nuforce series was also available to Demo. Nathan is a fan of these series, check out his reviews HERE
Obravo
You either love or hate the Obravo style and sound, but I’m a lover. Their EAMT-1A won one of our awards last year
Their full sized headphones (pic: HAMT-1 MKII) haven’t convinced me as much as their IEMs have though, but they keep on getting better. Especially this HAMT-1 Signature model (€5499)
I think I’ll stick with their IEMs though
I’m very much looking forward to listening to the Ra C Cu when it’ll be available (€9999)
OPPO
Not so much of Oppo was to be found at the show this year, but the guys from AudioQuest do like using it with their NightOwl headphones.
Pathos
TOBLERONE
The one and only Pono player at the show. Do people still use these?
ProJect Audio / Box Design
I bet a lot of people have never heard of Box Design before but they’re part of the world famous turntable maker from Austria
If you’re looking for neutrally tuned, qualitative gear that doesn’t break the bank, then start reading up on their models
I quite like the little Pre Box S2 myself and I heard nothing but good from other people about it either.
RHA
It’s always good seeing our friends from RHA at the shows and this time they pretty much brought everything to the show
Most popular were the 600 and 750 wireless
But the newest IEM that RHA presented was the 650 series and I really liked it a lot
Like Fiio, the RHA guys know how to make gear that has excellent value.
Rhines
Like each year the German guys from Rhines are at the Canjam show
This year there was nothing new at the show from these guys, but they’re always fun to meet
They were mostly showing of some new design, which I quite appreciated myself
Especially this little gem
Am I the only one that likes getting ear impressions taken?
Even more? Sure, it’s on the NEXT page. Just Click
Rob
I’d love to see some higher resolution photos, if available
Regardless, thanks for taking lots of them
Lieven
It’s a choice to downgrade and downsize the pictures. With the number of visits we have it’s simply impossible to use high resolution pics.
Also, I simply don’t have time to edit over 200 pictures for a show report. This isn’t a showcase, it’s just a report ????
Nick
Great overview of the canjam. Unfortunately Berlin was not possible for me, bit now I get a Great sense of it. I m really curious about the meier audio soul. I read his website aswell and it looks very promising.
George
it is Romania … and yeah .. great article 🙂
Jobbing
The Malvalve Headphone 4 hooked up to their impressive tube amp to me bests any electrostatic setup on the market. I can still feel the goosebumps from last year’s extensive audition. There wasn’t anything like it in Essen or London that was more involving. Wonderful to see they were in Berlin this year, they have even made (not so subtle 😉 ) adjustments to make them more comfortable. Now all they need to do is make them affordable and smaller and we have a winner!
RH
Nice report for those ppl who can’t make it to the show! Just wondering as DAC, chord Hugo or mytek Brooklyn is better?
JULIEN
Hello,
I saw the mx4 sounded great to you. Any thought about lcd-2 classic?
Thanks
Lieven
Well it’s the old lcd 2.1. It has been covered many times already
JULIEN
Ok, thanks. Since i just got my hands on a bakoon hpa-21, was wondering if getting this one was a good idea since bakoon amps work particulary well with audeze’s hp…or mx4 are just crazy good and worth saving more to get.. 🙂 ? I always wanted to try audeze hp but the weight was a dealbreaker…until now.
Or any other suggestion of planar? (I also got the auris ha2-se, and one pair ether flow opened).
Thanks.
