I have never been the biggest fan of AT but they had a quite popular booth at the show, displaying their lovely wooden designs.
Auralic was quite well represented and the setup below got the most attention from the visitors
My personal favorite is the Auralic Gemini which sounded incredibly good with the Audeze’s. The base gets quite hot though. These picture was taken at the Mr. Speakers corner. You can also see the excellent and beautiful Cavalli Liquid Gold.
It was a pleasure meeting the famous Rasmus in person. He brought the excellent closed H6 which I still love…
…and also some other flashy B&O headphones.
Ever since I reviewed the Bakoon HPA-21 I couldn’t wait to listen to it again. The Bakoon amps, using the Current output, are excellent with the Audeze and Hifiman headphones. The picture below shows little brother of the HPA-21, the HPA-01. Quite a good amp but I do think the HPA-21 sounded better.
One of the amplifiers I was most interested in listening to was the new portable Bakoon amp (HPA-01M). As the picture shows it’s more transportable than portable, but it sounded incredibly good on the current out with my AK240 as source.
This is a brand new design btw and the sample Canjam had was an engineering prototype. Exciting!
I think Beyer had the most tables at the show and they were right at the entrance. Most of their product line was available for listen, even the new A2 amplifier we will for sure be reviewing soon. I also got a listen to the DX160 iem which I really loved.
The A2 glows like a tube amp, but without tubes 😉
