Canjam Europe: The Picture Report

A very pleasant discovery was this new HPA-21 amplifier from Bakoon where you can switch between a current and a voltage output. It sounded gorgeous with the LCD-2 and I will try getting one of these to feature on our site.

The Centrance Hifi-m8 was something that was on top of my list as I have a review coming up of the new Cypherlabs Theorem 720 DAC and wanted to compare both. Man this thing is heavy and gets warm but it sure has a lot of power and I do like the amp part a bit more than Mike does (Check Mike’s review)

Auralic was of course at the show as well and they showed off their new Taurus MK2 and their DSD DAC together with the LCD-2 and LCD-3. Valentin liked it so much that he will be doing a review on these units on Headfonia over the next few weeks!

The most used and displayed headphones at the show were Audez’e‘s LCD-2 and 3 Planar Magnetics (on Sieveking stands), followed up closely by all the different Hifiman models and the Sennheiser HD800. While I’m a big fan of Hifiman, I wasn’t too convinced listening to the EF-6 amplifier, I definitely need some more time with that one.

They of course also showed their new High-End portable DAP, the HM-901. From what I saw it wasn’t too popular with most of the crowd but I didn’t have time to sit down with it and give it a listen, I’ll have to do that soon. Don’t forget to check contribute to our Portable Music Player discussion.

Beyerdynamic was there as well but of course they couldn’t bring their full line up and so they focused on their latest A20 amp which will be reviewed here shortly and the brand new T51P which sounded absolutely splendid, and I don’t even like on ear headphones. Review soon!

Love those headphone stands, where can they be bought from? Visited their site but don’t understand German and google translate didn’t work. Thanks. Great pictures by the way.

Very good question, they’re still building their website. I would suggest to mail [email protected]

      And thanks for the compliment!

I really enjoyed the photos L. The Orpheus is my #1 headphone system though, so you’re definitely off on your impressions for that one. 😉

Thanks Mike. Didn’t get too much time with it, I guess I’ll have to buy one myself
