Before this I wanted to make the files available in a 2560×1600 format which will fill an entire Apple 30" Cinema Display screen. But the files are 1MB a pop at that resolution, so I decide to back down a little bit. 🙂

Sorry Mike, this message appear when I try to download the trifecta by clicking the image:
"This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."
            Could you re-check, please?
That message doesn't appear when I clicked the German flagship and the Sennheiser Trio.
            Thanks again.

Thanks man. It's easier to make good photos when the objects look good. That's why we pay more for good looking models. 🙂

Just wondering, what camera/lenses do you use? 🙂

Also, can we have an archive of all for easier and faster downloading? Thanks!

    • Reply December 23, 2010

      Mike

      Currently I'm using a 5D Mk2 with a 24-70 2.8 lens. Previously I was using the 1Ds Mk3.

Also, if I do an archive of all the images, I'm afraid that the bandwith cost will be too high as people will start downloading 50MB files a pop. 🙂

Could you share some tricks and tips about your photo shooting setup, such as lightning?
        Awesome photos!

        • Reply January 17, 2011

          Mike

I can't share them all since it'll turn into a book. But if you have specific questions, I'll try to answer them. 🙂

For instance, pick an image you really like. 🙂

It might be an idea for photonia.com 😀 If you could point me to some online resources/tutorials about product shooting, that would be great.

              Mike

When I learned photography years ago, I found some resources online and books that taught product photography. But I felt most of them only covering the tips of the iceberg, and I've tried to learn lighting mostly by observing retail lighting techniques. Especially on high end designer boutiques, they always find a way to make their product look very good. You can observe them and learn a thing or two. Of course you can't copy the lighting directly since they use a different retail shop type halogen lighting, where most photographers use strobes. But the principle is the same, and that's what you need to understand.

I do think that the website Strobist also teaches the principle of lighting pretty well. It'll be good to read their articles too. Just remember, don't copy the technique, but try to understand the underlying principle that makes a technique works.
