Review : Fearless Audio S8F – Better… Again !

Design & Build Quality

Shell

The Fearless Audio S8F comes in so much colours, that you may need a full day to choose. Linsoul’s website gives a list of “ready to buy” models, like a car dealership who’s in-stock vehicles can be purchased immediately.

I received an S8F with a clear shell and a blue face plate. Okay, it’s a bit more than blue, as it looks like as if a slice of gems has been cut and fit inside my IEM. The exact model is : Fearless Audio S8F + B15 + WL10, B15 referring to the colour of the shell, grey translucent here.

The shell itself is 3D printed, so there is no visual difference with the previous models we received : perfect build in every way. That’s even more impressive when you know that you can get it as a CIEM, for maximum comfort.

Again, I’m always keen on translucent shells, as they allow you to take a glimpse at the inner side of your IEM.  Even better when it’s a multi-driver like this one, 8 drivers and a crossovers never cease to amaze me. I mean, look at how thin the cables can be !

That said, let’s take a closer look at the S8F.

Build quality

Build quality of the Fearless Audio S8F is flawless. No real surprises here, but sometimes it’s good to state the obvious.

Almost everything I like on the Crystal Clear is embedded in the S8F :

  • recessed socket for sturdiness
  • semi-custom shape and high-quality acrylic
  • superb craftsmanship from top to bottom

The only drawback would be the lack of a slit for the tips, so they won’t fall off from time to time. I didn’t have any issue, but better double check when you unplug them.

Isolation is excellent and on that field, these IEMs remains untouched. In my opinion, Fearless Audio IEMs achieve incredible results, whatever the situation. Impressive ! Even some of my CIEM cannot compete and seem not to block as much noise as the S8F does.

The cable is a bit thick but it’s not too heavy and the braiding is flawless. Not bad for a sub-500$ IEM.

Let’s check what’s the S8F bundle now.

A nerdy guy with a passion for audio and gadgets, he likes to combine his DAC and his swiss knife. Even after more than 10 years of experience, Nanotechnos still collects all gear he gets, even his first MPMAN MP3 player. He likes spreadsheets, technical specs and all this amazing(ly boring) numbers. But most of all, he loves music: electro, classical, dubstep, Debussy : the daily playlist.

Correction: Unless they changed spec recently, the S8 Pro also comes with 3 tubes. At least the one I had, did 😉

As an S8F owner i agree with your review….. I love my new babies so much that i’m losing hours of sleep ’cause i listen to music for hours on end. The only downside is that they are so much revealing that i’m starting to hear the limits of my LG V30 ( something that never happened to me with the Etymotic ER3XR )…. so here’s the 500$ question : better save for the Fiio M11 Pro ( or similar priced DAP) or bundle my LGV30 with the Chord Mojo??
    Thank you fellow Music Lovers

Try the iBasso DC01 with your LG V30. It’s as cheap as an upgrade can be and beats the M11 in sound quality. I’m rocking a Oneplus One 5T, Fearless S8 Freedom, a balanced cable by Tripowin, I believe it’s the C8 and the ibasso DC01.

      Sounds terrific!

Fearless S8 Freedom or FIIO FH7? Help me to deside.
I’m looking for warmer sound with deep authoritive sub base notes.
