Lavricables Ultimate Line Review

Lavricables Ultimate Line – Sound

I’ve tested the Ultimate Line IEM cable with different in-ear monitors and in this section, I aim to share my findings with you. First of all, the cable has a constant effect. No matter what I pair the cable with, I can easily say that it has a positive effect on the soundstage and spaciousness. Besides that, I want to continue on a case-by-case basis. The cable paired well with my daily go-to IEM, the VE7, even if it didn’t have the best synergy I’ve ever heard. I should mention that I use Leonidas V1 regularly and Leonidas is more than five times more expensive.

The Ultimate Line’s performance for the price is quite good. The cable slightly reduced the subbass of the VE7 and brought the mids forward a bit. It also increased the resolution of the upper mids and highs, resulting in a cleaner, more energetic overall sound signature.

It did synergize incredibly well with the Yanyin Moonlight, which has a slightly warmer sound signature than the VE7, with a slightly more recessed upper midrange presence. The Ultimate Line IEM cable gave the Moonlight a significant upgrade by emphasizing the Moonlight’s upper mids and further improving the EST’s detailed upper treble. With the Ultimate Line upgrade cable, the Moonlight feels airier and instrument separation is more defined compared to its SPC stock cable.

After trying the Ultimate series with the IEMs in my inventory, I also found out that it enhances the dynamism and excitement factor. From my testing, I think it is better paired with slightly warmer IEMs than IEMs with analytical signatures but it does not ultimately mean that they’ll sound bad. After all, exploring and trying new things is an essential part of this niche hobby.

Ultimate Line Upgrade Cable with the Edition XS

In many ways, the Edition XS is what I would describe as a success in my lexicon. It’s not easy to find a cable that can have a positive impact on a headphone that I think of in this way. This makes things even more complicated. So, how does the Edition XS play with the Ultimate Line?

Let’s start by talking about airiness. This cable and the aforementioned IEM cable are made of the same wire, and the aforementioned spaciousness & airiness effect on the Edition XS is somewhat more limited than on the IEMs. This is because the Edition XS has little room for improvement in these elements. However, the cable improved the XS’s SQ more than I expected, increasing the resolution and overall dynamism. The XS feels more energetic as well, with the Ultimate Line cable. The instrument separation is more layered and more distinct compared to its stock cable. The bass has a tighter impact while having a similar quantity. Note that I am comparing the cables back and forth using Topping NX7, which features a fake balanced HPO and a 3.5mm HPO so both outputs offer identical parameters.

We can say with confidence that the Ultimate Line upgrade cable gives the XS a clear improvement in terms of overall resolution and further enhances its already great technical capability.

First and foremost, Lavricables’ ultimate series offers something that has no alternative in this price bracket. Pure silver, litz cables. Honestly, as an audiophile, I was disappointed that there were so many alternatives to SPC and pure copper cables and not many companies offering pure silver cables.

Lavricables managed to impress me with their advantageous prices and very good craftsmanship. Moreover, not only the cable quality but also the material quality was far above my expectations. If you are looking for an upgrade cable in this price range, you should definitely check out Lavricables.
