This is part two of the High End Munich Picture report. Don’t forget to check out PART 1 from yesterday in case you missed that (shame on you 😉 )
A while ago I had the Leben CX300 on loan from a local High End shop and I wasn’t that blown away with it for headphones. Then in San Francisco I listened to the 600 on a nice pair of speakers and I liked it a lot more. There weren’t too many Leben amps at the show though, or I missed them all.
Lehmann audio is a brand I have been wanting to review for a very long time but for who knows what reason it hasn’t happened yet. I really want to listen to the new Drachenfels Dac/amp though and it looks like that review will finally happen, it’s long overdue.
Master & Dynamic were working together with Fiio this year and they both shared a booth. I can see now why Nathan likes them
I found the Meridian hidden in a darker corner of the show and that actually surprised me. I quite like the HPA but it seems there isn’t too much love for it. Or at least not at High End Munich.
The guys from Meze were there with their great looking and sounding Classic, and they even took it apart.
Next to that Meze brought some new stuff as well. It seems not everyone was happy with the look of the Classic so they’ll have a “trimmed down” version for sale as well. I quite liked their IEMs as well. Meze is certainly a brand to follow
OBravo. I remember listening to them a few years ago and I didn’t like them to say the least. Of the last two years however Obravo has come a long way and I now really like their full sized headphones and inear monitors. They guys from Customcable.co.uk will be helping us with the review samples, good times. Don’t you just love that logo?
OPPO was there as well and they basically had the identical booth as the on at Canjam Essen. They weren’t showing any new products but I always love seeing amp with see-through covers.

Thanks for the pictures. I wish I had a job, that would take me to High End in Munich. It looks like a fun (and expensive) place to be.

Best show of the year! Change jobs again? 😉

“Phonitor is one of those brands you just can’t walk by without trying.”
Should be SPL, Phonitor is the name of the amp.

That’s a lot of work, and a lot of lustworthy items to check out. Thanks!

Hi,
Please hear again Leben CS 300 (with NOS Mullard) with Sennheiser HD 800 and let me know the result.
It seems that only you was not blown away for this combo.
