Review: Tin HiFi T2 & T3

Tin Hifi

In this review Nano checks out the T2 and T3 by Tin HiFi. A chifi company that made some waves in the past. Let’s find out how these new gems perform!

Disclaimer: The Tin HiFi T2 and T3 were sent to us free of charge, by Linsoul in exchange of our honest opinion. They are available directly from their website for respectively 49$ and 69$.

About Tin HiFi

Based in Guangdong, China. Tin HiFi, formerly known as Tin Audio is an IEM maker with a strong experience in OEM/ODM. In 2017, they decided to lift the veil and become a real brand, with a small, but solid line-up. We previously reviewed the P1, a strong contender, and now it’s time for us to discover the T2 and T3, their entry-level models.

The T Series

It’s not just Pewdiepie’s biggest rival, it’s also a Tin Hifi line-up! At the moment, they have five products. There’s the P1, T2, T2 Pro and PT3. They also make a pleather case, which looks like the one that came with the AK T8iE back in the day.

Tin HiFi T2

The Tin HiFi T2 is the entry-level IEM from the brand. It is priced at just under 50$. It has two dynamic drivers, an aluminum frame, removable cables with MMCX sockets and rad reviews. Will we follow the hype train, or go side-ways and reveal an inconvenient truth?

Sold just under 50$, there is a lot of choice in this price range, so let’s hope Tin HiFi can impress us.

Tin HiFi T2 Pro

Sold for just 10$ more than their younger sibling, the Tin HiFi T2 Pro looks exactly the same. You keep the cool features like the aluminum housing, the MMCX sockets, and the dual driver. So what’s the difference?

The T2 Pro gets a better cable and a slightly different tuning. We didn’t receive them yet, but that will happen soon.

Tin HiFi T3

Second IEM to land at our review desk today, is the Tin HiFi T3. It looks exactly the same as the T2 and T2 Pro. Yet, it’s what’s inside that matters. Instead of the dual dynamic drivers, Tin HiFi opted for a hybrid. It combines a classic Knowles BA driver and a Dynamic Driver.

Priced just under 70$, we’ll check if the hybrid configuration sounds better or worse than the dual dynamic setup.

Tin HiFi P1

The Tin HiFi P1Tin HiFi P1 is vastly different from its smaller siblings. Instead of a dynamic, or dynamic, driver, the brand chose to implement a Planar transducer. Not a usual choice, even more in a sub-200$ price range, which makes it one of the cheapest chi-fi options for a planar IEM.

That said, the brand succeeded and to quote myself:

The Tin HiFi P1 is very good overall, excellent for the price. The sound is nice with overwhelming precision, impressive sound pressure and a sound signature that 90% of listeners will love, and 10% will tweak. The build quality is superb, with the shiny Stainless Steel shell and the copper braided cable. I love it.

On those good words, it’s time to unbox the Tin HiFi T2 and T3 and review these two tiny earphones.

Even after more than 10 years of experience, Nanotechnos still collects all gear he gets, even his first MPMAN MP3 player. He likes spreadsheets, technical specs and all this amazing(ly boring) numbers. But most of all, he loves music: electro, classical, dubstep, Debussy : the daily playlist.
