Eletech

Element Technology (aka Eletech) is a Singaporean boutique cable manufacturer that we have featured on Headfonia a couple of times already. Eletech has been co-founded by Eric Chong (previously with Effect Audio) who is very well known around our corners.

Their goal is to offer high performance cables at a reasonable price and summit-fi products for corresponding wallets. They also provide hardware that meets their own (quite high) standards. I have been handling their new products for a few months now, and the plugs, connectors and splitters are really good and well made.

Eletech’s portfolio of cables is discerned into four different series. The Virtues Series holds their entry-level products, which cater to first-time users as well and customers looking for bang for buck offers. The Azrael, Cassiel and Raphael can be found in this series.

Their School of Athens Series is their mid-range cable series for customers who have a bit more to spend and are looking for unique signatures. Then there’s the Paranassus series, which goes all the way for audiophiles with big pockets, in which we can also find the Ode to Laura, as well as the all new Sonnet of Adam. All of these series are IEM cables only. For headphone users there’s the Dante series, which right now has two products in it – the Inferno (749 USD) and the Purgatorio ($2,399 USD).

Apart from cables, Eletech also offers leather accessories and interconnects and newly also Eartips. Their leather cases are so sought after, that they are pretty much sold out within hours of their release. Whenever you’re after one of their cases, better be quick!

Eletech Sonnet of Adam

Sonnet of Adam

The Sonnet of Adam is a 23 AWG sized, four-wire hybrid cable. It uses gold-plated silver, gold-plated copper and gold-silver alloy cables as conductors. All of Eletech’s cables are cryogenically treated and make use of a proprietary solder.

Eletech always goes out of their way when it comes to designing special y-splits and plug inlays. This time they went with a gold design on black metal hardware. If you look closely you’ll see how impressively detailed the hardware design for Sonnet of Adam became. I can only assume they must have driven the CNC workers crazy with their demand. There are miniature columns and spears in it, which definitely were no fun to make and especially get right.

Handling the Sonnet of Adam cable shows that it is nicely flexible, and a clear step up from the Ode to Laura, which was on the stiffer side, due to it’s higher Gauge size (22 AWG).

What’s new with the Sonnet of Adam is Eletech’s implemented chin slider. Before this cable, Eletech never used a fixed slider. We saw in the Ode to Laura, that they included one that they produced together with Pentaconn. But this time we get a simplistic black aluminum slider.

The build quality of Eletech’s new co-flagship is perfect, just as you would expect from a cable at that price point. The braiding is consistent and wide enough to still be flexible when wearing. The Sonnet of Adam also isn’t heavy on the ears when wearing. Although I don’t wear glasses, so you might feel something then.

The Sonnet of Adam is available for a whopping $2,799 USD through Eletech’s webshop or one of their global retailers.

Been into music and sound since he was a little brat, but spent his profession in a more binary field making things do what they were supposed to do. Ultimately just another dude on the internet with an opinion, into which you shouldn't put too much thought.
