As promised and explained earlier, we’ll be doing a year long of weekly giveaways and last September was the start of our 52-week celebration. For this thirtieth unit of the biggest audio giveaway the world has ever seen, we’re giving away one Mytek Liberty DAC worth $995USD!! This excellent DAC can become yours and all you have to do is … sign up and leave a comment. Any comment is good but tell me what DAC you’re using at this time.
But first, let’s look at Mytek and the Liberty DAC.
About Mytek
Mytek Digital is an American company that manufactures high end electronics for the professional and HiFi audio scene alike. They are active since the early Nineties and have made themselves a name for their pro gear and I’ve seen many studios use their products. However, their HiFi focussed range hasn’t been overlooked. Mytek has gained quite a reputation for their DACs and amplifiers.
The Liberty DAC
Liberty DAC is the Mytek newest general purpose PCM/MQA/DSD USB2 DAC designed for high quality music playback and monitoring of all digital audio formats including all high resolution formats. The DAC features several digital inputs, digital volume control and unbalanced as well as balanced audio outputs and a high performance headphone amplifier. Designed as a little brother of Brooklyn DAC, Liberty DAC provides robust performance in small portable 1/3 rack package.
Winner
The lucky winner will get his unit shipped directly by Mytek. Mytek will cover the shipping fee but neither Mytek nor Headfonia will cover any other expenses such as VAT, import fees, tax, etc. This is all the winner’s responsibility so if you’re not up for that, it’s best not to enter. Mytek also won’t lower the unit’s value for shipping but you can choose the termination of the cable on both ends..

I have a Mytek DAC+. Have heard the Liberty.Not a bad sounding dac. I have used the MM side and the analogue side can be described as being able to hear the record surface noise. For the digital side , I have connected via an optical cable ( hisago glass optics) to a Cocktail Audio x50D.Very detail. I have use this via the Sony MDR Z7.For the liberty, I believe Mytek main competitor is the Schitt cheaper Dac and also the PS audio and the Furutech/ADL.It is also built to allow more consumers to have the ability to buy a DAC and allowing a much wider connectivity. As more and more are looking to have a better sound reasonably price system. Hence there are Audioquest Dragonfly and even the LG V30.But if anyone wants to compare the Liberty to mega bucks Dac, it is a total different category. I have also compare the Mytek with the Chord Mojo. The Chord runs hot. The sound is alittle different while so much that you will be missing the music or should I say make you to have a much lesser enjoyment. But it is still quite listenable. Not unless if you want to compare with the likes of DCS or Niagra. Be realistic. The price is a lot different. But for this Liberty, I can safely say that it will allow more middle income earners to be able to afford to buy one and have a simple built system. I had say add it with the Mytek own power amp and with a simple Rega CD and a pair of Klispch Heresy speakers this will give you the kind of music and sound of a live perfromance of Miles in the house.

I’m Sam. My English is far from perfect, please understand.
Here’s my dac, burson Swing purchased the end of last year as newest product released. Although the product itself isn’t fancy like others, I’m still have belief that it sounds would surprised me. its chipped with ESS9038 K2M , 2 single classic OP Amp and 2 double vivid Op amp. Before original op amp swapped to those V6 op, I felt it just sound normal 9038 taste, but after V6 pop on, it became other product, soundstage, vocal, bass, etc, whole lot improved.
However, only one dac doesn’t make sound like heaven, I used my network streamer to upsampling , immediately a magic kicked in. I enjoy it very much. At the moment I’m also looking for other dac, such as r2r, or other type of high end sound with reasonable price dac to fit for my own. I love music yet to be an audiophile, prefer to look for the sound is only for me rather than following the world. 🙂 That’s my story in the moment

I’m in FIIO land. Currently I am using a Fiio X5 III DAC with the Fiio K5 and A5 headphone amplifiers. Cannot complain about the setup. The X5 is good for the road or connected to an amplifier. i have passed in previous giveaways because im not very lucky with raffles, lotteries and giveaways , and im not into social networks. The reason i do it now its because i have readed really good reviews of this Dac+HP amplifier, and im needing a new DAC.
I am currently using a HIFIMEDIY9018 connected to a TAGMClaren 60 irv (heritage), that is, indeed, an important improvement of the sound that came from my pc. But i suspect the LIBERTYDAC performance is miles away from this.

The best I currently have is a Dragonfly 1.2, which is great for what it is, but I suspect that my T5p headphones may well benefit from a large upgrade, even if they are technically easy to drive.

At the moment I’m only using the Wolfson WM8740 integrated in my Cambridge Audio CXA60 which is alright, but my plan is to get the Bluesound Node 2i as a transport and use it with an external dac such as (why not) the Mytek Liberty. Fingers crossed 🙂
