The lucky winner will get his/her unit shipped directly by Ultimate Ears. Ultimate Ears will cover the shipping fee of the CIEM to you but neither Headfonia or Ultimate Ears will cover any other expenses such as VAT, import fees, tax, etc. This is all the winner’s responsibility so if you’re not up for that, it’s best not to enter. Ultimate Ears also won’t lower the unit’s value for shipping and it’s up to you to get a good set of ear impressions and send it to Ultimate Ears in the USA. Those headphone look incredible they look like those pro headphones so many singer/producer have that I saw live at concert like Pharrell for example. I mostly consume music while doing sport, bike, walking or taking bus/subway. I listen to any genre as long it’s good sound but mainly R&B/Soul (Mac Ayres, Snoh Aalegra, JMSN, Jess Connelly, Jordan Rakei, Jack Garratt, Eliza, Majid Jordan, Phlake, Timi Yuro….) Rock (The Black Keys, Rival Sons, Led Zeppelin, Chris Stapleton, Janis Joplin) or some Dance/Electro (Disclosure, Calvin Harris, James Blake, SG Lewis) Jazz (Jamie Cullum, Norah Jones) or a group like N.E.R.D aka The Neptunes aka Pharrell & Chad Hugo which have done songs in all those genre or even some Soundtrack with the greatest composer of all time Ennio Morricone.
Now is time to finally have some real good in-ear headpones to hear the seperation between all instrument & voices and finally be able to hear some good detail on Flac files. As I listen to a lot of different type of music I really like the neutral type of sound like on my Focal Listen over-ear heaphone but never had the chance to hear the sound from in-ear models of that quality level of the ultimate ears.
I read your review those Ultimate Ears seems to have a really impressive neutral sound that’s what I’m looking for as you said “for the daily grind, and for longer, more varied listening, the UERR is intensely satisfying.” and they are really light which is perfect If I do some sport with it.
As I consume mostly music with in-ear headphones that would be incredible as a daily routine to listen to music with that level of in-ear headphones. Now I can only cross my fingers and go back listening to some good music.

I’ve been a long time HP user and recently started getting familiar with IEM brands. I love my gear, all of them, and I never find myself wasting anything I own. These are beautiful IEMs and I was eyeing them at E Earphone when I went to PotaFes. I couldn’t audition them because they seemed a popular listen. Music is more clear, detailed, interesting, fun and engaging – it’s also super-fun to discover new details in existing tracks that have been listened to countless times before.
I know a rather neutral frequency response from the T2 Audio, it really makes a difference from the usual V-curve.

I’m a young foley artist and sound designer, I’ve been working in the audio post production for films for 3 years after graduation. I’ve heard a wide range of studio monitors in our studio, and I’ve got used to the flat frequency response for quite a while now.
Sometimes I do need to do some editing and mixing on the fly on macbook and it’s a headache to find out the work I did on macbook sounds totally different in our studio.
I have several studio headphones, like MDR7506, M40x, HD25, K271 but after all I still like in-ear headphones a lot more because of lightweight, low profile and no heat building up around my ears.

I have been working towards a new pair of IEM for about 6-7 years now, every time I get close something happens and needs to be taken care off. Last year I got married to my beautiful wife, we went to our dream county, Japan, Tokyo on our honeymoon. There I finally had the chance to try a massive range of headphones IEMs and other audio products from the highest price range, it was like being in heaven and after we left the store and I calmed down a bit my wife told me that she determined to make sure that she and I would save up enough for me to buy my dream pair of headphones or IEMs whichever I wanted. Sadly a few months later my wife woke me up at night, telling me she felt a weird tingling sensation in her body, but only on the left side, from skull to about hips, arm included. The sensation went away and she ensured me it was probably nothing.
It returned a couple of times after to the point where the tingling stopped but instead she couldn’t feel her arm anymore. We decided it was high time for a doctors visit. The doctor wasn’t sure on what it could be and sent us to a neurologist, he told us it could very well be a tumor but we first had to do an emergency full body scan to see what exactly was going on.
A week full of sad thoughts and little sleep followed. At the end of the week we had to go back to the neurologist since he had analyzed the film that was made of the scan and concluded that luckily no tumor can be seen and that the problem probably is coming from the spine, choking the nerves and thus the tingling and numbness sensations.
I was beyond happy to hear that as this can be resolved by regular therapy. We are now a few months further and she has been having less and less of the episodes.
It cost a small fortune though and my wife feels terrible, since we used all the money that was saved for my headphones\IEM dream. I for one feel thankful that it wasn’t anything worse.
I didn’t care one single bit for the money that was used and I am just glad I can see my wife feeling better and not scared anymore.
I would love to win these as it would be a perfect ending to one of the scariest episodes of my life and hopefully the only one.

I still think I deserve to win this IEM as much as any one else. But the reason that I want it and why I mean that I deserve it is because i’m working in construction. I’ve been wearing some Bose QC20s for the last 3-4 years and the noise cancellation is pretty on and off due to wear and tear on the cable.
It’s manditory for us to wear ear protectors, but I prefer to listen to some Dire Strats and M83 while working, so these would be perfect. Good isolation and good isolation and replaceable cable without all of the digital stuff that always breaks.

When we came back from Japan we started saving up for them but then my health started getting worse and worse and the neurologists gave me a 95% probability of having a brain tumor. We were both devastated by these news. We needed to use all the money saved for his dream earbuds for my medical treatments. I felt awful, not only because I could have a brain tumor that needed a surgery but also because I didn’t get to see him as happy as he was in that store in Japan. I found out meanwhile that my brain had no tumor and I just had a minor problem with my spine, problem that could be solved with physiotherapy. I still dream of giving him his dream IEM’s but we can’t afford them because the medical bills are still catching up on us. That’s why I hope I will win. 🙂

UERRs are my fav iems, just dont have the funds for them
They are so versatile and balanced. I play violin, and on some pop gigs proper monitors would be very useful for performances and could help protect my hearing from loud brass and amplified music.
Paired with my zx1’s sony flavouring they would be perfect for casual listening and would make my constant commute to gigs, rehearsals, uni, teaching, etc. much more enjoyable.

What I said before is still true.
My in ear dilemma is that I simply cannot find a pair of universals that fit well enough to use for extended periods. I’ve sold off my Shure 535, 64 Audio U6 & Westone UM Pro 30.
If I Go with IEMs, it’s going to have to be a CIEM. and the UERR would definitely be one of my 1st choices. I did get to hear a universal version of these that they use at shows, and I was blown away by the quality of sound – neutral in the best sense of the word.

I was hard of hearing as a child and needed surgery to repair my hearing. I fully recovered and will never forget when I first started hearing details in the background, ever since music is just my escape from the real world everyday. I would love to have that sensation again and appreciate some high quality and detailed music instead of my crappy earpods where the only thing you really listen to is your neighbours conversation on their phone while on the bus. I have dipped my toe into the pool of audiophilia using full-size headphones as my gateway drug. I have recently been getting into earbuds and entry-level IEM so I can listen to quality music on the go throughout the day. I love that for a fraction of the cost of a full stereo setup you can get the same intimacy and quality of sound. My friends are just floored when they listen to uncompressed files or a record over a quality headphone system versus the MP3s on earbuds and their phone. These UE IEM seem to be the bomb and I would consider it a coup if I was fortunate enough to win.

I am still early on in IEM journey. I started with some Tin T2s. At first, I was kind of disappointed because I thought they sounded good, but I couldn’t notice a difference. Boy, was I surprised when I switched back to my Samsung earbuds included with my Galaxy. I realized how flat and boring the music sounded compared to my T2s. Now, I upgraded to some Acoustic Research (RIP) AR-E10s after and gave the Tin T2s to my brother. It’s true when they say you don’t realize what you have until you lose it. I didn’t notice the sound difference until I had to go back from them. Now I can’t wait to upgrade again.
It also gave me and my dad something to talk about too since he is an audiophile though more focused on speakers. : )
