Vision Ears VE10 Review

Fit

The fit of Vision Ears monitors remains consistently impressive, and the VE10 continues this tradition. Utilizing the supplied SpinFit tips, the VE10 provides an outstanding fit, surpassing even the comfort levels of some of my custom monitors. Achieving a great fit with IEMs, especially without a custom mould, is a notable feat, and the VE10 comes remarkably close to perfection.

The design of the shells contributes significantly to this level of comfort. Despite housing a complex 10-driver hybrid setup, Vision Ears has achieved a remarkable feat in engineering by ensuring a compact and snug fit that remains comfortable. The seamless integration of the 10-driver hybrid design into such a compact shell proves Vision Ears’ expertise in ergonomics.

For those who might not find SpinFit as their ideal choice, Vision Ears offers an alternative; the AZLA SednaEarfit SE1500. Crafted from 100% medical-grade silicone, these prioritize comfort and aim to reduce skin irritation. They not only deliver a supremely comfortable experience but also enhance isolation compared to SpinFit, catering to different preferences and needs.

While fitting remains a subjective aspect and can vary from person to person, in my experience, Vision Ears monitors stand out as the epitome of well-fitted universal IEMs.

Sound Quality

The new VE10 presents a very detailed, cohesive, and smooth sound, combining the best possible performance VE has to offer. It combines the classic VE qualities but adds to them with a better bass performance in terms of quality and texture, smooth mid-range and exceptionally articulated, extended treble response.

So the new flagship can be considered top of the line not just because of its designation, but its performance as a whole. What we usually look for in a flagship IEM, the VE10 has all of those qualities in one package, presenting technical supremacy, clarity and resolution, in a very balanced presentation from start to finish.

When I think about the VE10 and my testing sessions with it, the words that come to my mind are clarity, spaciousness and air, well-executed bass, detail and balance. It manages to sound enjoyable, but somehow gives the studio quality VE vibes too, and that is a special trait.

Bass

The VE10 offers a harmonious blend of impactful dynamics, rich texture, and clarity in the bass. The new dynamic driver serves the VE10 well, as I always thought the bass response of the VE line, in general, is a bit too mid-bass oriented. The VE10’s inclusion of a dynamic driver effectively mitigates this, introducing a heightened thump and kick to the bass response.

Vision Ears has also balanced this enhancement, maintaining the restrained nature that characterizes the VE Line’s sound signature. This demonstrates the commitment to preserving VE’s established house sound while elevating the bass performance. By infusing the bass with added impact, texture, and depth while ensuring it remains controlled, Vision Ears has achieved a tuning success that caters to both loyalists and those seeking a more robust low-end experience.

The technical prowess displayed in the bass region of the VE10 is very good. Notably, the resolution, separation, and definition of bass notes stand out as exemplary features. Vision Ears has achieved an exceptional feat in delivering a bass performance that excels not only in technical precision but also in balanced tonality and control.

While some IEMs might boast a more powerful bass response in quantitative terms, the VE10’s combination of nicely balanced and controlled bass with remarkable texture and impact is something to praise. The VE10 doesn’t just deliver a bass that thumps; it also maintains a refined, detailed, and articulate presentation.

Mids

The mid-range presentation in the VE10 upholds a natural character while introducing a touch more richness and fullness, a welcome evolution from previous iterations. This enhanced fullness lends a sweeter and more natural tonality to the mid-range. The mid-range exhibits very good clarity, definition, and transparency, allowing both instruments and vocals to shine with vivid detail and lifelike resonance.

Within the mid-range, the upper frequencies are emphasized in comparison to the lower frequencies. This nuanced elevation contributes to a heightened sense of crispness and dynamism without disrupting the overall balance too much.

Vision Ears has created a natural and cohesive presentation, ensuring that each driver harmonizes seamlessly to produce a clear, dynamic, and vibrant sound signature. The result is an IEM that delivers clarity, dynamism, and vividness, affirming Vision Ears’ ability to craft an immersive and engaging listening experience.

The mid-range also stands out with resolution and refinement, setting a benchmark that’s among the finest in the IEM market. The level of detail and clarity presented in this frequency range is impressive. The instrument separation is stellar, providing a great level of precision and articulation. Each instrument is reproduced with good accuracy and lifelike clarity, contributing to immersive and engaging musical listening.

From a technical standpoint, the VE10’s mid-range excels, showcasing a high level of resolution and refinement that solidifies its position as a top-tier performer in the world of in-ear monitors.

He tries to keep his photography enthusiasm at the same level as audio. Sometimes photography wins, sometimes his love for music takes over and he puts that camera aside.
