Picture Monday: The HUGO

Welcome back for another Picture Monday! Check out all our previous Picture Posts right HERE

Today’s Picture post is all about the Chord Electronics Hugo. When I was working on the Woo Audio WA8 Eclipse review last week, I took the Hugo out of hibernation to compare it to the new King in town.

I was pleasantly surprised that the Hugo after such a long time still impressed me from the first listen. something I have never ever had with their new Mini hugo, the Mojo. Mojo doesn’t work for me, it’s a bit boring. But it is small and versatile, and that’s always good. Then again the Hugo is still very versatile as well as it has USB and optical in and it has RCA outs and several headphone outs. You can use it as a DAC, a DAC/amp or you can feed it in to an external amp like the CDM or the WA8.

Hugo still feels and looks sexy and it just oozes style when laying on your desk. With its leather jacket it becomes a superb portable as well and all that with a desktop quality sound which is spacious, layered and relaxed.

Yes, Hugo is here to stay.
