CODE 24 & CODE 24C
Let’s start this article with the CODE Series. The CODE 23 was released last year, with an extravagant approach to copper cables. The new CODE 24 continues this approach with improvements in ergonomics, flexibility and sound benefits.
The updated CODE 24 now has SPC wires, featuring flagship-level, UP-OCC Silver-Plated Copper material. EA continues the extreme 16,5 AWG diameter, and the new cable has a 13 multi-core cable structure. Overall, it’s a significantly improved version of the CODE 23.
The CODE 24C version is a limited edition. It’s the lite version of CODE 23 that features a new and more ergonomic and flexible core, 17 multi-sized core bundles and a smaller 18.5 AWG. It’s quite reminiscent of the CODE 23, with an impactful and thick sound signature.
Design, Quality, Ergonomics
The latest CODE series cables from Effect Audio make a bold statement with their flashy design, sure to turn heads in crowded environments. Crafted with high-quality materials, these cables boast a stunning aesthetic that exudes luxury and sophistication. The standout feature of the new CODE series is the meticulously designed y-split, featuring a geometric pattern and brushed aluminium material that adds a touch of elegance to the overall design.
When it comes to comfort, it’s worth noting that the CODE 24 series may not be the most ergonomic option available. The cables are stiff, heavy, and lack flexibility, although Effect Audio has made improvements in this regard compared to the CODE 23 series. In my experience, using them on the go may prove to be challenging due to their rigidity.
However, it’s essential to highlight the impeccable build quality of key components such as the 4.4mm jack and the y-split, contributing to the overall durability and longevity of the cable. Despite these strengths, the stiffness of the cables may make regular use uncomfortable for some users.
Packaging, Accessories
Each cable in the CODE 24 series comes equipped with Effect Audio’s ConX and TermX systems, previously only found in higher-end cables, demonstrating a commitment to providing premium features across their product range. While users must still purchase the sockets separately, the inclusion of these systems adds value and versatility to the cables.
Moreover, each cable is accompanied by a dedicated carrying case and a cable strap, enhancing convenience and organization for users on the go. The cable strap can be used to tidy up the cable or secure it within the carrying case, ensuring ease of use and protection during storage and transport.
Sound Quality
The CODE 23 cable from Effect Audio was renowned for its focused and intense sound signature, particularly emphasizing the mid-range with a bold, lush, and full presentation. However, this came at the expense of a smaller soundstage and limited detail resolution.
With the introduction of the new CODE 24 cable, Effect Audio has taken a significant step forward by incorporating newly selected SPC wires, resulting in improved detail retrieval, spaciousness, and airiness in the sound. While retaining the engaging and dynamic characteristics of its predecessor, the CODE 24 offers a more expansive soundstage and better layering performance.
Notably, the treble performance of the CODE 24 has been significantly enhanced compared to the CODE 23, featuring better extension, detail, articulation, and definition. Unlike its predecessor, which prioritized bass and mids, the CODE 24 achieves a more balanced presentation across the frequency spectrum.
Although the bass performance of the CODE 24 remains impressive, it has been slightly toned down to achieve greater overall balance in the sound signature. Overall, the CODE 24 represents a significant evolution from the CODE 23, offering better technical performance and a more refined listening experience across the board.

Can you compare Fusion 1 to Cadmus Founder‘s Edition ?
Thanks
Berkhan
Fusion 1 is more focused whilst the Cadmus FE has a bigger sound stage and a warmer mid-range and mid-bass, with a textured presentation in there. Fusion 1 remains a bit more neutral, with better speed and dynamics. Both are great but I would go with the Fusion 1 if my IEM already has a good sound-stage.
