In this blog entry, we go over our visit of The Sound Kitchen store in Rotterdam. Picture Galore!
Disclaimer: Headfonia is not related to The Sound Kitchen in any way. It’s just a very cool shop in Europe. Michael, thanks for having us!
Intro
After our my visit of the World of Headphone Camp in Heidelberg, Germany and the Headphone Auditions Shop in Amsterdam it was now time to visit The Sound Kitchen Shop in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Now it’s time to discover the Rotterdam venue!
The Sound Kitchen Rotterdam
The Sound Kitchen was launched 2 years ago, and as such it is a brand new store. It also has the most beautiful shop interior I have ever seen, but more on that later.
The Sound Kitchen isn’t just a personal audio store, it’s a unique Concept of a Specialty Espresso bar and Headphone Store combined. The location is in Rotterdam’s Little C, and there’s a spectacular View on the Euromast!
Visit us to enjoy the coffee our baristas take pride in serving but also to listen to our excellent selection of headphones. Whether you’re a traveler, music lover, pro-musician or just need some headphones for work, we love sharing our experience and knowledge to help you choose the right headphone for your needs.
At the Sound Kitchen headphone store, Michael Wongso (the mastermind behind DuneBlue) and his team sell an extensive range of headphones and related gear. Whether you need wireless headphones for traveling, earphones for sports, gaming headphones or headphones for long music sessions with your favorite tunes: the Sound Kitchen has them all available in-store.
For a lot of people visiting a nice personal audio shop isn’t something they’re used to doing and Michael confirms that a lot of people are a bit afraid of entering such a niche and fancy looking personal high-end audio shop. He jokingly even ads that the shop perhaps looks too fancy, but that’s exactly where the Espresso Bar comes in. As you can see in the pictures, both of the shops flow into each other, making it easier for people to enter for a great cup of coffee and to then discover good audio gear.
At Sound Kitchen we love coffee and music, not necessarily in that order. Sharing this passion with others has become a heart filling pleasure. We believe in a true connection with the city Rotterdam and source the products that we serve in our bar as locally as possible. Long term relationships with a true sustainability and creating value for the complete chain are at the basis of these cooperations.
Of course The Sound Kitchen also has an online shop for those who like buying online, though nothing beats touching, feeling and listening to gear before you actually buy it. But what brands do they sell I hear you ask? Well, the list is long:
“And do people like the concept?”, you are probably asking yourself. I can only say that during my time there, the Espresso bar as well as the audio shop was full of happy people. And looking at the online reviews, it looks like everyone pretty much loves the concept.
If you’re close to Rotterdam and you’re in the need of gear, I fully recommend heading over to the Sound Kitchen. Shops which make it possible to listen to a large selection of excellent gear (check the pictures) are getting rare, so profit of the possibility to pay them a visit. I am fully convinced Michael and his team will take care of you and treat you like a king, and then some.
