Canjam Europe: The Picture Report

When there is a big headphone event just two hours a way from you, it’s impossible to stay at home right? How often do you get the opportunity to listen to over 50 brands of headphones, amps and DACs in one room? The people from Canjam Europe arranged all that in under 4 months and they did one hell of a job, it was one of the nicest “meets” I ever went to and I’ll be definitely going there again next year. I also met Valentin for the very first time and Phil from Cosmic Ears who was just visiting the show (he handed me over a pair of universal BA4 demos!), I’m on a roll lately meeting “Famous Audio people”.

It is impossible to talk about everything in this CanJam report and so I will be using pictures with a small description to show you what we liked. Here it goes!

Sennheiser was there with a big booth showing off all their models but especially the new On-Ear Momentum. I especially liked the very expensive IE800 designed by Axel Grell. He was actually at the show for a short while but I didn’t get to catch him in time for a talk. Probably I was too busy listening to this jewel they brought with them:

Yes indeed, the mighty Sennheiser Orpheus in top condition. It was a pleasure listening to this amp, but like I told Mike: For that price I would expect angels to descend from heaven and carry me in to the clouds while singing the most beautiful way possible. Of course that didn’t happen so I walked away a little disappointed… 😉

You don’t find that much shops on this side of the ocean carrying the full Grado product line, so I was delighted to sit down and start listening from the 80s series up to the top model(s) with the Fosgate Signature hybrid amp. I have to admit I was genuinely pleased. Everyone always says these are only good for rock and fast music, but they do so much more.

Rhines Custom Monitors from Germany was also there with their 1-2-3 and 4 BA driver ciems and I was impressed with their professionalism and customization options. Right next to them (pic below) were their colleagues from InEar who were showing off their really nice sounding two and three-way universal Stagedivers. I will review these later for sure, the CIEM market is definitely booming the last few years and I love the sound of Balanced Armatures. once you go ciem, you never go back!

The guys from Philips were also at the show and it was nice seeing them again after our Philips visit a few weeks back. Funny thing is I had to loan them my L2 review sample to display at the show because all the other samples had to be sent back to Asia. Thanks Sebastian from Headsound for being the L2 model in the picture above.

Love those headphone stands, where can they be bought from? Visited their site but don’t understand German and google translate didn’t work. Thanks. Great pictures by the way.

Very good question, they’re still building their website. I would suggest to mail [email protected]

      And thanks for the compliment!

I really enjoyed the photos L. The Orpheus is my #1 headphone system though, so you’re definitely off on your impressions for that one. 😉

Thanks Mike. Didn’t get too much time with it, I guess I’ll have to buy one myself
