Today we review the Sennheiser Accentum, the latest Bluetooth headphone from the brand, selling for €179 Euro or $179 USD.

Disclaimer: the Sennheiser Accentum was bought by myself for the purpose of this review.

About Sennheiser

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last century, you’re likely familiar with Sennheiser. This stalwart in the audio industry has been around for over 75 years, selling hundreds of millions of headphones – or even billions if you include earphones – catering to both audiophiles and sound professionals. Some of their models, like the HD650 and HD-25, have been staples in their catalog for over thirty years, almost as long as I’ve been around!

However, as we all know, nothing lasts forever. Last year-ish, Sennheiser faced some hurdles and made the tough decision to split its business. The consumer and audiophile section was sold to Sonova, a titan in the hearing aid industry, while Sennheiser retained its professional division, including Neumann and HD-25.

This shift resulted in two entities: Sennheiser on one side and Sennheiser-Hearing on the other. From the latter came the Momentum 4 and the brand-new Accentum – their latest entry-level Bluetooth headphone, which we are reviewing today. Will it live up to the legacy? That’s what we’re here to find out.

The Sennheiser Wireless Series

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless had a rough start. Sound-wise, those TWS were simply sublime, outperforming many if not all of its competitors, but in the background, things were not as bright. Plagued with various software issues, the Momentum TWS suffered from battery depletion and Bluetooth disconnection, both with the source or just between them.

Thankfully, the V2 fixed many of those issues – especially the battery one – and kept the great sound offered by the V1. Then came the Momentum True Wireless 3, which gained a more streamlined shell, enhanced battery life, and a better ANC.

I reviewed them a few months ago, and I quite like them (especially with their discount price):

Sound is very good, comfort is impressive, and the extensive battery life makes them the perfect solution on the go. Add to that effective noise-canceling, adaptive apX, plus a comprehensive app, and you get a solid alternative to the classic AirPods Pro or the Gemini.

Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4

The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4 is a full-fledged Bluetooth headphone, designed to offer great sound performance and solid noise-canceling for both audiophiles and remote workers – lucky me, I tick all the boxes. New iconic design, new features, and the promise of a better sound to “Let nothing stand in the way of your listening pleasure”.

I got a pair for review, and here’s a quick excerpt:

“The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless is a great Bluetooth headphone, plagued by some software issues. And that’s a shame because sound-wise the headphone could easily be one of my favourite ones in this price range, even against some of the most famous models.

On top of that, if the new Sennheiser/Sonova association seemed to save on materials – less metal, more plastic, which is kind of a bummer for me – the end result is one of the comfiest headphones I had the chance to try recently. But with one of the worst ANC, I ever used.”

Sennheiser Accentum Wireless

First of its generation, the Sennheiser Accentum is the first headphone fully-developed under the Sonova era. Designed as an affordable alternative to the Momentum 4 – like the HD4.50BT before – with smaller drivers and the same ANC chip, this new model aims to be the new reference, in the sub-€200 bracket.
