What is the best phone for music?

In this article we update you on the status of our ongoing polls and we find out: “What is the best phone for music?”.

 

We’ve been running our polls for about half a year now, so before going to the new poll, let’s first discuss the status of the previous polls.

The first poll we did was about the best headphone, or at least what our readers feel is the very best headphone on the market.

 

 

Best Headphone:

The number one position for the moment is the Sennheiser HD 800 (S) with 15.19% of the votes ! You can find out all about the HD800 S in the article below. The HD 800 (S)’ lead is getting smaller actually

The Meze Empyrean is a TOTL headphone that is very easy to like, and it’s completely different from the HD800 (S). For now it’s still in second place. In third place we have our readers who feel there is no best headphone. I do understand what they mean, but that of course wasn’t really what we were trying to find out with this poll. On place 4 we find the Sennheiser HD820. Senn is on a roll!! Why are they selling their headphone business again?

The top 3 best Headphones according to you guys are:

  • Sennheiser HD800 (S): 15.72%
  • Meze Audio Empyrean: 7.86%
  • There is no best headphone: 7.24%

The second poll we launched is about the Best IEMS on the market.

Best IEM:

For now the leader in the race is the Vision Ears Elysium with 14.92% of the votes! You can find out all about the Elysium here:

The number two and three in the vote are for the Sony IER-Z1R and the InEar Pro Mission X. There isn’t much change in the classification as many new models are being added to the list each day.

The top 3 answers:

  • Vision Ears Elysium: 14.92%
  • Sony IER-Z1R: 12.53%
  • InEar Pro Mission X: 8.70%

 

The third poll we published was about the best portable source.

Best Portable Source / DAP:

For now the number 1 is the Astell&Kern SP2000 with 17% of the votes. The SP2000 indeed is an incredible DAP. That being said the Luxury & Precision P6 Pro is a very close contender. You can find out all about the SP2000 here:

 

In second place we still see the Sony NW-WM1Z, and that’s really no surprise as a lot of people like it, and rightfully so. What surprises me more it so see the iBasso DX160 on the third step, I did not see that coming..

The top 3:

  • Astell&Kern SP2000: 17%
  • Sony NW-WM1Z: 10.05%
  • iBasso DX160: 7.50%

 

The fourth poll we did was about the best TWS IEM.

Best TWS IEM:

For now the gold medal is going to the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 with 25.82% of the votes. That’s huge but then again, it indeed is very good and it’s actually strengthening its n° 1 position. You can find out all about the Sennheiser here.

In second place we find the Sony WF-1000XM3 and the Lypertek TEVI is taking home the bronze medal for now.

  • Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2: 25.82%
  • Sony WF-1000XM3: 13,15%
  • Lypertek Tevi: 8.69%

 

The fifth poll we did was about the best DAC/AMP combo.

Best DAC/AMP combo:

For now the 1st spot is held by the Chord Electronics Hugo2. It gets even better for Chord as they’re also holding the second place with the Mojo. The bronze for now goes to the wonderful RME ADI-2   You can find out all about the HUGO 2 here:

  • Chord Hugo 2: 16.18%
  • Chord Mojo: 11.21%
  • RME ADI-2: 9.09%

The last poll we did was about the best CIEM.

Best Custom IEM:

The first place in this list is for the Craft Ears Craft Four with 21.38%. It’s a CIEM which has quickly gathered several awards, including one of ours. You can find out all about the Craft Four here:

In second place we find the 64 Audio A18t and the Unique Melody MEST is taking home the bronze medal for now.

    I have a LG G7 and for the time being, it’s great for music and the Boom Box effect, when placed on the right surface is mind-blowing. The quad-dac configuration in this is what made me get into IEM’s since I wanted to experience the full potential that it had to offer.
