Picture Sunday: A good day for music

Sunday is a day where I sleep late, have breakfast and then head to my couch. Sunday is the day I do a lot of writing for Headfonia but it also is the day I do a lot of listening. Not review listening but just listening to my favorite tracks on the gear I like.

Today I ended up with the Luxury & Precision L3PRO DAP connected to the Chord Electronics Mojo over coax. No matter if I’m using the Mojo or the Hugo, I always end up using the coax input as it to me just sounds richer an more precise. Most readers agree with me on that yet there are other who swear by using only the USB input. The excellent thing about the AK380  is that it can both use its USB output as well as the optical one. The AK70, our DAP of the year, only does USB.

The L&P L3PRO featured in the picture will be reviewed in depth on Headfonia this week so I won’t go into to much detail yet, but it is one very fine sounding DAP that doesn’t really need Mojo to sound very good. At the same time the Mojo never disappoints either. Today I’m using it with my Fidue A91 and the Radius HP-TWF41. The Radius will be featured soon on HFN, it’s a universal IEM I didn’t like when I listened to it at Canjam Europe (because of the wrong tips) but they insisted I take one home with me and now I am very glad it did. It might look weird but the sound is impressive and I can see why this IEM is quickly becoming so popular.

    conversely, i use my mojo with the alo national+ at low gain as an effective way to minimise hiss with super sensitive iems like CA Andromeda and fitears

    I use coaxial output from my Fiio X5(first gen.) to Mojo and it’s sound absolute GREAT, way more natural than USB connection.
